Welcome

As a re-accredited Gold Rights Respecting school, at Wingate Primary School we aim to provide a happy, friendly and caring atmosphere in which children feel secure and valued. We place a great emphasis on promoting the Rights of the Child and encourage children to respect the rights of others. Our school has a happy and friendly atmosphere in which honesty, courtesy and consideration for others can flourish along with a high priority on ensuring that all children receive an education suited to their individual needs.

Wingate Primary School is very proud to be working with The Goldsmiths Company. The company have funded a Specialist Maths Teacher to work in our school alongside three partner schools to: develop maths provision, improve confidence, resilience and outcomes for our children and their families in maths. The project will also involve the wider education community and most importantly, promote enjoyment and value for maths for our children and their families.
The project will last for four years, and the Team from Goldsmiths will accompany us on this exciting journey! We are lucky to have such a supportive sponsor for this North East Maths Project which is also being evaluated by NATCEN.

As an Educate and Celebrate School we have a legal duty to eliminate discrimination, advance equality of opportunity and foster good relations between people. ‘Educate & Celebrate’ is a national initiative designed to prepare children and young people for life and to give them a good understanding of how Equality and Diversity is protected by the Equality Act 2010. More information can be found on our Educate and Celebrate page.

Safeguarding
As we take the safety of our children seriously all visitors to our school, although very welcome, are asked to read our Safeguarding Guidelines. Please see the link to view our Safeguarding Policies.

ParentCharter
The Charter tells all adults who come into our school or grounds how our children expect them to behave. This includes being respectful at all times to everyone in school and not doing anything that may hurt or discriminate against any members of our school community in any way at any time. If adults in our school do not follow this charter they will be asked to leave our school by the Duty Bearers in school. In our school we will not tolerate injustice in any way, shape or form. We expect all adults to help keep all of our children safe. You can find our Parent Charter on the School Newsletters and Letters section of the website or request a hard copy in school.

Thank you for visiting our website. If the information you require is not shown on these pages, contact the school and we will do our best to help.
