Rights Respecting School

As a re-accredited Gold Rights Respecting School we aim to provide a happy, friendly and caring atmosphere in which children feel secure and valued in a warm, safe environment.

In school we ensure that rights are embedded throughout all curriculum areas and that rights language is used by everyone.

Each child in our school belongs to a Rights Group.  Each week Rights Groups are taught about the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) and they enjoy a variety of activities linked to aspects of each right.

Every Friday in Awards Assembly one child from each class is awarded a Rights Respecting certificate and trophy if they have shown a good understanding of rights or worked hard to respect the rights of others.  The child who receives the award keeps the trophy on their desk for the week and take the certificate home.
